Attorney Richard (“Ricky”) Margenot is a lifelong resident of Greenwich, CT, and his family’s roots in Greenwich extend back for more than 100 years and four generations. Mr. Margenot is an independent attorney who has practiced law for more than 29 years. He greatly enjoys his work and, most of all, believes he is making a difference. He views his practice as protecting clients’ money, health, livelihoods and communities. Mr. Margenot enjoys working with other professionals who can bring value to his clients. He believes good foresight and planning reduce and eliminate risks.
Mr. Margenot’s practice covers a variety of legal disciplines from real estate law and business conveyancing to probates and estate planning to name just a few. He represents lenders, investors, individuals, fiduciaries, businesses, professionals, and older, younger and disabled members of the community. He is in daily contact with different people, solving all sorts of problems and contributing to his clients’ financial health and well being.
Mr. Margenot’s practice is diverse including real estate purchases and sales, wills, trusts, probate, estate planning and settlement, elder law, financial issues, business law and contracts, health law, conservatorships, property matters, title insurance, commercial and residential and equipment leases, guardianship of minor children and selected litigation matters. In addition, Mr. Margenot has an interest in alternatives to nursing home placement and can set up and coordinate home care, drawing on professionals in the community.
Mr. Margenot believes it is important that clients receive expert legal advice in advance of any problems.
When not tackling legal issues for his clients, Attorney Margenot spends time as a beekeeper, avid hockey crazed person and occasional but enthusiastic surfer.
